First Sergeant Charles Eugene Rogers

First Sergeant Rogers of Little Rock earned two awards of the Bronze Star Medal for valor during multiple tours in Vietnam as well as the Purple Heart Medal for combat wounds and the Air Medal. He retired from the Army after 23 years of active service. 

First Sergeant Rogers was born in Carlisle Arkansas on March 23, 1936 and raised in Little Rock. He served our country proudly for over 23 years having entered the United States Marine Corps on February 2, 1954 and serving therein for 3 years. After 1 year of inactive duty he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He received numerous awards for his accomplishments including the Combat Infantry Badge, Meritorious Service Medal; Purple Heart; Army Commendation Medal (third oak leaf cluster) Air Medal and the Bronze Star Medal with “V” device (second oak leaf cluster).
